The palm branch is meaningful in many traditions. In Christian iconography it represents the victory of martyrs and of the spirit over the flesh, and palm branches were waved at the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. The palm (Phoenix) was sacred in the Mesopotamian religions; in ancient Egypt it represented immortality; in Judaism a closed frond of the date palm is part of the festival of Sukkot; and in ancient Greece a palm branch was awarded to victorious athletes. A spinner ring is a band turning over a band, so it cannot be resized once it is made. We make every ring true to size with a little extra room for the natural swelling of your fingers through the day: our size 7 is really 7¼, and our size 7½ is really 7¾.
